The South Luangwa Conservation Society conducts regular patrols to remove wire snares set by poachers around the park, and villagers from Mfuwe are now designing animal sculptures from the recovered wire. The sculptures are attached to hand-made elephant-dung cards, which other villagers make using a combination of elephant dung and shredded recycled paper donated by the local safari lodges. Alternatively, the cards are decorated with a variety of stunning photographs. All cards are supplied with a handmade elephant-dung envelope. Packs of three cards will have a combination of sculptures and photographs on the front. Sculptures and photographs will vary. The inside has been left blank for your own message. |
